Multiple initiatives are taking off worldwide to electrify and automate vehicle fleets. If fully implemented, this trend promises safer roads, lower Greenhouse Gas emissions, and more efficient mobility options. However, the growth in electric and autonomous mobility needs to be accompanied by commensurate efforts to adapt the road system, including its traffic management and charging infrastructure. This panel will take stock of US DOT projects, studies, and pilots to ready roads for this paradigm change.
