Multiple initiatives are taking off worldwide to electrify and automate vehicle fleets. If fully implemented, this trend promises safer roads, lower Greenhouse Gas emissions, and more efficient mobility options. However, the growth in electric and highly automated mobility needs to be accompanied by commensurate efforts to adapt the road system, including its traffic management and charging infrastructure. This panel will present both US DOT and US DOE programs aimed to prepare the roads for the future.
